After: bedroom Accent wall

For longer than I’d like to admit, I’ve been planning a turquoise accent wall — very first for the living room, as well as then later I chose on one for the bedroom instead.

After much back-and-forth about the colour choice, we chose — yes, he had a state — on Behr’s intense Teal (S-G-490). It’s the ideal amount of green, however still really teal as well as beachy. We selected a flat surface so it wouldn’t show as well much light — it’s a bright bedroom dealing with east — as well as I believed such a saturated colour would look finest matte.

We were so thrilled to get started, that I failed to remember to take appropriate before photos. Well, the bedroom had a rich red accent wall, so I’ll leave it to your imaginations.

This before picture doesn’t show the actual red wall (to the right), however it was the exact same colour as the drapes, so you can comprehend why I’ve been longing for an update.

Why didn’t we take before photos?!?! You can see a bit of the red gleaming with after this very first coat, though. (It really only took two coats, without primer!) The other three walls were painted this colour above the wardrobe — he called it coffee, I called it brown. Either way, it was just as well dark.

Et voila, the completed accent wall. As you can see, we painted the other three walls a warm white to match the furniture. It’s one of Lynda Reeves’ picks, really — CIL’s Antique White. We desired a soft white that wouldn’t contend with the teal wall, as well as a warm tone that would be cosy sufficient for a bedroom. It’s perfect. as well as notice the red drapery was swapped for easy charcoal roller blinds from Ikea. My sweetheart had the fantastic concept to utilize the leftover material from sizing the blinds to cover one-by-fours for the valances (there’s one more larger window to the left). He just utilized a essential gun to protected the material around the edges of the wood, then connected it to the window frame with a few nails. He’s a useful one.

We’re truly pleased with exactly how it turned out. It’s bold, yes, as well as may be as well bright for some, however I like pops of colour like this. The very first picture was taken in the evening, as well as this in the morning, so you can see exactly how the teal modifications throughout the day. Plus, our warm grey organic matelassé duvet as well as shams from West Elm keep the space from looking as well summery. Oh, as well as my trio of teal vases are from the dollar store in Japan — steal!
